Male Figure

Courtney Gruttadauria

I’m a painter/mixed media artist and have been teaching art for 20 years in the Webster Central School district. I have a bachelor’s in art education from Buffalo State College and a master’s in fine art studio (painting) from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Inspiration for my work comes from both nature and the human figure. I enjoy experimenting with a wide variety of art materials and techniques and love to explore endless possibilities. The process of making art is very important to me. I navigate through multiple steps before finalizing a piece. I rely on my senses and intuition while making artistic decisions. Movement, rhythm, and speed are an integral factor for me while I’m creating.

I’ve been working in Studio 402 in the Anderson Arts Building since August 2019. I’ve also maintained a studio at Hungerford Smith for 12 years in addition to working in my home studios.

I consider myself a maker of many things with an emphasis on painting. My other passions are cooking, listening to music, being in nature, and hanging out with my two cats Frida and Frankie Beau.
