As an artist, I look at things more closely than most people do and find beauty in everyday things and situations. At times I will find a discarded item, such as a tape measure or pieces of gnarled apple tree, and consider how I might transform it into something other than its original intention and break the boundary of the expected. This allows me to make a connection between different things and ideas, generating perhaps a new perspective. I frequently cross media genres simply because I find it interesting and personally challenging. Everything in life is art! My favorite quote is from Scott Adams: “Creativity is allowing oneself to make a mistake. Art is knowing which one to keep.”
